Papillon is a very small personalised company catering to private parties of six to twelve. Over the past fifteen years we have built up a faithful clientele --which has become a club of sorts -- and a strong reputation, especially with lovers of good food and wine.

We've always felt there are two basic types of holiday: the travel holiday where you sightsee and are immersed in different cultures, but need a vacation to recover; and the relaxing holiday which is certainly therapeutic, but hardly stimulating. The idea of a Papillon Regional Holiday is to blend the two, the travel experience with the relaxing vacation.

So, first let us tell you what a Papillon Regional Vacation is ...

A week-long house party with friends and family in stunning locations. All of our houses are carefully selected for their location; and each bedroom has an en-suite or adjoining bathroom. We like to describe it as "a view with a room"
Set in beautiful historic regions ... the countryside of France, Italy and Spain has bewitched artists for centuries, while their towns and villages are living film sets.
Enjoying interesting and fun excursions ... Jamie and Dennis are highly experienced and animated guides who make the pages of history and legend come alive. Dennis' wine tastings are a particular treat; his knowledge, unpretentiousness and rapport with the growers excite both the beginner and the professional. We put a strong emphasis on meeting the locals and living as the locals live. Having two minibuses allows us the flexibility of offering alternative excursions...

A Papillon Regional Vacation is not stuffy - you can make it as casual and informal as your group wishes. You are not herded around the region and lectured to! It's your party, it's your vacation. If you want to laze in the sunshine by the pool or take a walk in the hills rather than go on excursions - that is absolutely fine.
